How to Become a Member of East MS REALTORS®

Provisional membership is granted to all applicants for REALTOR® membership when a completed application has been submitted, and all association dues and MLS fees are paid.

Provisional members shall be considered REALTORS® and shall be subject to all the same privileges and obligations of membership. The applicant must satisfy all of the requirements of membership, i.e. completion of a mandatory orientation class within thirty (30) days from submission of the REALTOR® application, or membership may be terminated, at the discretion of the Board of Directors.

There are 5 types of membership:

  1. REALTOR® (New Licensee, includes MLS)
  2. REALTOR® Secondary (Primary with other board, joining our board and MLS)
  3. Designated REALTOR® (New REALTOR® Office, includes MLS)
  4. MLS Only (REALTOR® from other associations joining MLS Only)
  5. Affiliate (those who work closely with the real estate process and homeownership)

REALTOR® Membership Requirements:

  • Complete the online REALTOR® application
  • Submit a copy of your MREC License
  • Submit proof of E&O coverage
  • Submit a professional headshot photo
  • Sign and submit the New Member Code of Ethics Training Requirement form
  • Sign and submit the Fairhaven Training Requirement form
  • Sign and submit the Lockbox User Agreement
  • Sign and submit the Growth Zone Portal Registration/Communication/Billing Acknowledgement form

The following form shall be completed at the Board Office after your application is submitted and reviewed:

  • New Member Governing Documents Disclaimer form

After submitting the forms, your application will be reviewed for approval and an invoice will be submitted to you for payment. After payment, you will be notified of all credentials and contacted for the next steps.

  • Complete mandatory MLS Orientation class and online training (information will be sent prior to class and online training)
  • Complete mandatory Board Orientation class and online training (information will be sent prior to class and online training)
  • REALTOR® Pinning Induction at next Member Meeting

REALTOR® Secondary Membership Requirements:

  • Submit a Letter of Good Standing from your primary REALTOR® Association to info@emr.realtor and contact our board office at 601-485-7113 to streamline the process.
  • Submit a copy of your MREC License
  • Submit proof of E&O coverage
  • Submit a professional headshot photo
  • Sign and submit the Lockbox User Agreement

Designated REALTOR® Membership Requirements:

  • Complete the online Broker application
  • Submit a copy of your MREC License Broker
  • Submit a copy of your MREC License Company
  • Submit proof of E&O Coverage
  • Submit a professional headshot photo
  • Sign and submit the New Member Code of Ethics Training Requirement form
  • Sign and submit the Fairhaven Training Requirement form
  • Sign and submit the Lockbox User Agreement
  • Sign and submit the Growth Zone Portal Registration/Communication/Billing Acknowledgement form

The following form shall be completed at the Board Office when the application is submitted:

NOTE: All agents that will accompany the new broker must complete the process for New REALTOR. For an existing REALTOR® member that is opening a new office and may or may not have existing or new agents, please contact the board office to streamline the process.

MLS Only Membership Requirements:

  • Complete the online MLS Application
  • Submit a copy of your MREC License Broker
  • Submit a copy of your MREC License Company
  • Submit proof of E&O Coverage
  • Submit a professional headshot photo
  • Submit a Letter of Good Standing from your primary REALTOR® Association to info@emr.realtor and contact our board office at 601-485-7113 to streamline the process.
  • Sign and submit the Lockbox User Agreement
  • Sign and submit the Growth Zone Portal Registration/Communication/Billing Acknowledgement form

NOTE: MLS Only Applicants must hold primary membership with another REALTOR® Association AND must be licensed in the state of Mississippi.

Affiliate Membership Requirements:

  • Complete the online Affiliate Application
  • Sign and submit the Growth Zone Portal Registration/Communication/Billing Acknowledgement form

After review of the application, an invoice will be emailed to you for online payment
