Disaster Relief for the Carolina Coast

Disaster Relief for the Carolina Coast

posted: 09/04/2018

Today, residents along the Carolina Coast are picking through what remains of their homes. Others continue to face the threat of flash floods as the remnants of Hurricane Florence continue to drop trillions of gallons of water in parts of North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. The images of devastation are a reminder to all of us in Mississippi of the impact a Hurricane can have on a state’s housing situation and economy.

The Mississippi REALTORS® Disaster Relief Fund was established in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, and for 13 years has allowed Mississippi’s REALTORS® to assist with recovery from disaster from Tupelo to Louisville, Hattiesburg, Woodville and the Mississippi Coast. We have also had the privilege of assisting disaster victims in other states, giving back to others who generously poured money into Mississippi after Katrina.

The Board of the Mississippi REALTORS® Disaster Relief Fund voted yesterday to send $15,000 in assistance to victims of Hurricane Florence. Please join us in this effort to assist by making a contribution to the Mississippi REALTORS® Disaster Relief Fund now so that funds are available to help victims of future disasters in Mississippi and elsewhere.
